My family did not do any traditions for St. Patrick's Day when I was a kid, but Adelaide has taken an interest in setting a
leprechaun trap for the second year in a row, so this year I helped out a bit.

She decided that leftover Valentine's candy would tempt the wee fellows, and I helped engineer a door which would seal shut with tape once the trail was followed inside the trap. (not pictured)

After asking around, I learned that the leprechauns are supposed to make a mess. Being less than interested in cleaning up a mess, I kept it contained to some pencils and necklaces that were purchased for the express purpose of being scattered about. As they are gifts, I am guessing they won't cause too much fuss when it's time to pick them up.

She won't get the leprechaun this year, but his hat will have gotten stuck in the trap.

These two will have to tell the tale in the morning.
