Field Day

Today was the second to last day of school. The kids had field day this morning, doing all sort of activities as a class. They did a great job of cheering each other on and had a lot of fun.

Girl Power

Today was field day, and among the fun activities was a tug-of-war station. The stations were staffed by 6th graders, who showed the kids what to do and divided up teams.

After a few go-rounds with smaller groups, the 6th graders set up a boys versus girls competition with the whole class. Here are the girls just starting to pull:
Here are the boys, 3 seconds after the girls started pulling:

I wasn't even able to catch the boys standing, as the girls had them down and dragging along the ground in about 1.75 seconds. Granted, they outnumber them by 6, but when I suggested that the 6th grade boys help on the boys side for a re-match, the Kindergarten girls had those boys down on the ground again in no time. Way to go, tough girls!
